everything
"everything" is a zine that traces memory through absence. It began with a simple question: why am I still listening to Wu Bai? That question led back to where those songs were first heard.
The zine compiles screenshots from Google Maps taken in 2014 (digital print) and 2018 (Risograph), documenting the gradual vanishing of my grandparents’ woodhouse and wood factory. These images are paired with Wu Bai’s song titles along the side.
The zine is hand-torn and bound with a dark green treasury tag, a binding borrowed from office use. Punched holes run through the middle of the pages, reflecting the fragmented nature of memory, and how each person sees a different whole through the same gaps. All zines are enclosed in a cassette box, referencing listening as a form of remembering.
